The Grace Collection is a series of freestanding lace designs for the machine embroidery and heirloom sewing enthusiast. "Bonnets and Booties" heirloom lace was the first collection digitized to create a vintage look for Baby. "Sentimental Laces" was the second collection which was designed to commemorate those sentimental moments in our lives.
The Grace Collection III -"Traditions" is the third in the series of freestanding lace designs for the machine embroidery and heirloom sewing enthusiast. Traditional items are worn or used for special occasions, and what better way to celebrate, than with items embellished with traditional lace shapes.
The Grace Collections are machine made laces which compete with hand made laces in all aspects. The laces have a light and airy look and feel to them, yet they are sturdy enough to be passed on from generation to generation. The journey to creating beautiful heirlooms continues with the Grace III Collection, Traditions.
The collection of designs also comes with instructions for creating three projects and has four sections: Freestanding Lace Cross, Freestanding Lace Diamonds, Freestanding Lace Edgings and Freestanding Lace Ribbons. Each collection can be purchased individually or as a collective whole.
The designs and patterns are derived from a combined collaboration of two friends, Sadia Andrews and Carolyn Edwards, with a love for all things vintage and a desire to create heirlooms for future generations. |

The Traditions Collection has five Cross Designs. Three designs are freestanding lace designs which can be used to create bookmarks, ornaments or for attaching to specialty fabrics which cannot be laundered. The smallest cross is less than 2'' tall. Two designs are insertion lace designs using a specially designed cutwork technique. The smallest insertion cross design is about 2" tall, making it ideal for embellishing smaller items.

The Traditions Collection has six Diamond Designs. Two designs are freestanding lace designs which can be attached to specialty fabrics or used to create a large freestanding lace fabric. Two designs are insertion designs and the last two are fabric edge designs. All designs variations come with a plain and a candlewick center. The plain center uses fabric of your choice. The candlewick center creates an interesting raised candlewick look which further enhances the design. |

The Traditions Collection has six Edge designs. Two designs are freestanding lace edgings which can be stitched out, washed and then attached by sewing machine to specialty fabrics which cannot be laundered. The other four edgings are embroidered on to the fabric directly while creating the freestanding lace edge. The straight edges are continuous lace edgings which can be used to create yardage of freestanding lace. |

The Traditions Ribbons collection has five designs. Two designs are freestanding insertion ribbons and two are insertion ribbon tails. One design is an edge ribbon insertion design. All five designs work well with each other in creating larger heirloom lace embroideries. The large ribbon design was used, along with the two insertion tail designs to create the ribbon bow on the christening gown as shown on the left.
